My Tundra has outlasted my 1999 Chevy Venture. The Venture gave up in March 2008 with 140K miles. The Tundra is now 9 years and 1 month old. Perhaps I will buy it a birthday cake and let the truck run it over at 10 years. Don't know what really to do at a 10 year truck anniversary party....

Love this truck. Very sure footed, quick, dependable, never lets me down. The stock tires are junk. Switched to BFG All-Terrain T/As, much better. This truck has excellent confidence-inspiring power, but it's all above 3000 rpm; not much in the way of low-end torque. Also recommend the installation of a rear sway bar--this significantly reduced the Tundra's understeer, and improved handling markedly. I just wish the gas mileage was...

The brake problems are mild compared with the gearing and transmission problems. At 100,000 miles I was told tundras and sequoias just start doing having transmission problems. I have been back to the dealer three times for the same problem. We replaced 1,600. sensor part, and a gear shifter cord for a couple of hundred more. I fight to get the automatic transmission into gear. I am disabled, have children and need a reliable car for doctor appt....
