| I have always enjoyed racing at Kansas. I like the way the race track is laid out. It is fast and smooth, and the track is wide so you can race side-by-side just about anywhere. I have always run well at Kansas, but the finishes may not show that because we have had some kind of mechanical problem. Its going to take a good handling truck and a lot of horsepower to win at Kansas this weekend. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is so competitive these days that those are really the keys for any race track we go to. The Red Horse Racing team is really looking forward to racing on a track with the size and speed of Kansas. We had kind of struggled at those tracks earlier this year, and crew chief Jamie Jones and the guys think that we have found some solutions that are going to help us be a contender at the 1.5-mile tracks. Were looking forward to going there, using what we have learned and hopefully conquering these fast race tracks like Kansas. Being from Texas though, Im pretty used to the heat. I dont really think of the heat as an issue for the drivers because we are all professionals. We didnt get to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series by not being able to handle the heat. Were all athletes, and I think we are all kind of used to it. I know the heat is tough on the fans who come out to the race though, and I just want to thank them for their support. And make sure to drink plenty of water. Starr On His Red Horse Racing Team And The Race at Milwaukee: Starr went to the back twice during the race at The Milwaukee Mile. Both times, he was able to pilot the No. 11 Red Horse Racing Toyota back through the field. The team scored an eighth-place finish. Starr talks about the race. Honestly, the finishing results didnt show how good we were at Milwaukee. I believe we had a top five truck. I dont know where we would have been in the top five, but coming from the back to the front twice shows just how good the Red Horse Racing Toyota was. One thing about that process last weekend its good to know I had a good enough truck that we could do that, going from the back to the front. We had good pit stops all night, and the adjustments that Crew Chief Jamie Jones made on the stops were great. In this racing deal, its not always going to work out the way you want it too, and Milwaukee was a prime example of that for us. We took advantages of the circumstances that we were given and we capitalized on them. I think this past weekends performance was a testament to my team that you just cant ever give up. Those guys gave 110 percent to the checkered flag and it earned us a top 10 finish. Notes: Starr will be making his 152nd career start in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this week at Kansas. Starr has four career victories (Las Vegas 2002, St. Louis and Phoenix 2004, Martinsville 2006). 2006 Quick Facts Starts 11 Wins 1 Top-5 Finishes 2 Top-10 Finishes 4 Poles 0 DNFs 0 Average Start 16.0 Average Finish 11.7 Points Position 9th No. 11 Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Team Employee Name Track Duties Shop Duties Jamie Jones Crew Chief Crew Chief David Starr Driver Driver Jason Miller Truck Chief Truck Chief Jordan Allen Front Tire Changer Cory White Front Tire Carrier Mechanic Dwayne Ogles Rear Tire Changer Matt House Rear Tire Carrier Mechanic Rowdy Cannaday Gasman Suspension Mechanic Brent Craig Catchcan Louie Ellis Fuel Runner Transport Driver Andrew Turner Jackman James Castiglione Mechanic Mechanic Red Horse Racing's ownership consists of general manager Tom DeLoach, a former Mobil Corp. executive; and Jeff Hammond, a NASCAR Nextel Cup championship crew chief now serving as an analyst for FOX Sports.
